Pete Murray Launches New Album & National Tour

Album 'Summer At Eureka' out this SATURDAY, MAY 17

Pete Murray has a big week ahead of him. His eagerly anticipated new album "Summer At Eureka" is released this Saturday and his national concert tour goes on sale from 9am next Tuesday.

Hardcore Murray-lovers can get a sneak preview of the new live show when he launches the album via a special performance for Bigpond Music's "Monday Night Live" on May 19. While Pete has performed hundreds of shows around Australia over recent years this will be the first time he has performed a concert that can be viewed online and on mobile live as it happens. In other news Pete has announced ARIA winners, The Audreys as the support for his forthcoming National Tour. The Audreys will be performing in a unique acoustic trio mode, as the main support on all capital city shows across the country.

The Audreys whose new album When The Flood Comes, recently debuted in the ARIA top 20, have been receiving glowing album reviews and have been selling out venues across the country. The stripped back trio mode will see the band using a combination of upright bass, banjo, harmonica, melodica, ukulele, electric and acoustic guitars.

Also joining the tour in the opening spots will be exciting new comer Gin Wigmore for some shows with Matt Joe Gow on some Victorian dates.

The addition of these rootsy and organic musical guests to the tour should dovetail perfectly with the feel of the songs on Pete's new album "Summer At Eureka". He created the self produced disc in his home near Byron Bay and it has a homespun warmth that makes it a great leap forward from his more melancholy multi-platinum hits "Feeler" and "See The Sun". The album's lead single "You Pick Me Up" is already among the 20 most played songs on Australian radio and the disc is expected to be certified gold within days of its release.

Skybombers Take Off Yet
Again With A Bunch Of New Dates In July!

One of the hardest working rock bands in Australia, those Skybombers boys just don't stop!

Right off the back of a national tour in support of their rocking new album Take Me To Town , and a recent support slot with Grinspoon, the Skybombers will keep the tour van engine running with an extended bunch of dates across the East Coast and Adelaide in July, taking Melbourne based punk rock trio Calling All Cars along for the ride.

There is no rest for the wicked though and the Skybombers will head overseas again next month for shows in the US before travelling to Japan for the Japanese release of Take Me To Town. In blistering form after some solid touring the past 12 months, these July shows will be the last chance for punters to check the band out before they depart!

Take Me To Town's first single Always Complaining debuted at #1 on the AIR chart and #23 on the ARIA physical singles chart, and has gained solid airplay on Triple J and Nova.

From club crawling anthems to hangover cures; the thrill of young love to the darker side of teenage dreams, Take Me To Town is an album drenched in the eternal elixir of youth: reckless optimism, arrogant self-belief and the mixture of sky-bound riffs, grooves and melodies tailor-made for teenagers to strum on their first $40 acoustic guitar.

Acclaimed Australian guitarist, singer and songwriter Jeff Lang will release his new studio album Half Seas Over on May 10 th 2008 through ABC Music/ Warner Music , and will showcase his new material when he hits the road on a national tour throughout May and June.

With his eloquent guitar, sweet voice and plainspoken yet sensitive approach to the original and traditional source material, Jeff Lang is expanding the boundaries of traditional folk, country and blues to create a new brand of non traditional music which is undeniably and deeply steeped in tradition, yet with its imagination set on future horizons.

This powerful and hypnotic recording draws deeply on folk sources - the old, unsettling gothic tales that have passed from musician to musician from century to century - and the simple but compelling sound of acoustic guitar with minimal accompaniment to express the deeper resonances beneath the stories.

Inspired by a diverse set of influences, from John Fahey and Richard Thompson to Chris Whitley and Devendra Banhart, from Dock Boggs and Skip James to Dylan and AC/DC, Jeff Lang has created a contemporary classic.

Jeff will be touring nationally through May & June to support this release with blues/folk singer songwriter Kara Grainger, in support of her debut solo album, "Grand & Green River".
